1. Optical transmitter


In the optical fiber communication system, the electrical signal must be converted into an optical signal by the transmitter and coupled into the optical fiber before it can be transmitted to the receiving end. Therefore, the optical transmitter is an important part of the optical transceiver of the TV station, and consists of two parts: a light source and a circuit, and the circuit part is divided into a modulation circuit, a control circuit, and a line coding circuit. The light source is the key device to realize the electro-optical conversion, which determines the performance of the optical transmitter to a large extent.


2. Optical receiver


The optical receiver of the TV station's optical transceiver can detect the weak signal after long-distance transmission through the optical fiber, and then amplify it to generate the original electrical signal to complete the communication task. Among them, the photodetector is the key component of the optical receiver, and its function is to convert the received optical signal into an electrical signal. Since the photocurrent generated by the photodetector is very weak, it needs to be amplified with low noise through the preamplifier.


3. Drive circuit


The main function of the driving circuit is to provide driving current to the light source. Therefore, the driving circuit used in the optical transceiver of the TV station usually has a constant current source enough to drive the light source, a sufficiently high driving speed, and a stable output characteristic of the light source. In addition, it is necessary to control the DC bias to make the output extinction ratio as large as possible to ensure sufficient light receiving signal-to-noise ratio.


These components play an important role in reasonably priced TV station optical transceivers. Therefore, only the use of optical transmitters, optical receivers and drive circuits that meet the design and application requirements can ensure the normal use of optical transceivers.
